The idea of implementing a ban on wearing JEANS in the UP colleges reflects our inability to cultivate moral erectness through education. it seems that the material part of life has overshadowed the value system. Is it justified to blame (only) girls for indiscipline and erosion of moral values? What about the other parties.... the boys, the teachers and the parents? This ban indirectly means that the girls wearing JEANS are responsible for indiscipline in institutions. And are we sure that Salwar-Kameez and Saris are morally superior to JEANS? It takes two and two to make a four. The humans are recognised by their unique behaviour. A horse remains a horse and a donkey remains a donkey but both can wear a zebra skin to look attractive. In the rapidly changing scanerio, their exists a dire need to impart moral education both to boys , as well as, girls. Let us try to cultivate/preserve good moral values in their tender minds, strengethening their roots. All the parties... the girls, the boys, the teachers and the parents have to shoulder the duty of creating a disciplines atmosphere in the institutions. Let the winds of change blow. Why to fear... the deep-rooted and flexible ones are never uprooted.
